Hiking, rock climbing, bouldering are no longer an outdoor sport, with more and more gyms offering these adventure sports indoors.
Bouldering is different than rock climbing as it is a solo activity. One doesn't need the roped technique with teams or partners to pursue bouldering. Bouldering is less high than climbing, but the solo effort makes the climb more intense.
Gyms like Rogue rock gym and Seattle Bouldering project, have invested millions to give climbers the authentic natural habitat feel of bouldering.
Bouldering can be considered the stepping stone to climbing. In Rock climbing there is the cumbersome handling of various equipments like harness, rope knots etc. The trend for rock gyms started in Seattle sometime in the ninety's.

A family hiking trip takes a fatal turn, when their eight year old son fell into a twenty six feet deep canyon.
The family was hiking across a restricted area, when eight year old Cary fell into the Canyon and had a narrow escape. He was injured on his head and neck
This is the second accident in a week, at Starved Rock state park hiking trail. Previously a 26 year old man broke his neck, by falling down a 30 feet gorge while hiking. The park authorities have placed warning signs all over the hiking paths, and insist that people should observe the park rules and follow the signs for their own safety. There are marked trails specifically for people to follow.

Hiking turned fatal for 29year old Don Grant, when he fell off a 300 foot hill. An unidentified body was found on Mt. Pilchuck's hiking path. Who was later identified as Don M. Grant.
The man from Bellingham went hiking with friends suddenly separated from his group and went missing. It is assumed he went off to try out a shortcut in the hiking route. His friends waited at the trailhead for him and then later alerted the authorities.
Volunteers searched the hiking trails and finally located the body at the foot of Mt. Pilchuck quite a distance from where the group was hiking. His body will be airlifted and handed over to the medical examiner for further investigation to determine the cause of death.
