State Park Officials Warn Against Callous Hiking

Hiking is a fun thing to do with fanily and friends, also, on the all time stress-busters activities list, hiking comes at the top tiers. However, hiking irresponsibly and without heeding to signs and notices could land you into trouble, literally. After two hiking accidents occuring within a week at the Starved Rock State Park, officials are yet again stressing on the neccessity of keeping to the hiking tracks and not go wandering about into unknown territories.
The two hiking incidents are that of an 8-year-old falling 26 feet into a canyon and that of a 26-year-old man falling thirty feet and breaking his neck. The child, thankfully, was last listed to be in a stable condition. Authorities said the child's family was hiking in a restricted region when the incident occured.
