Hiking Turns Fatal for Washington Man

Hiking turned fatal for 29year old Don Grant, when he fell off a 300 foot hill. An unidentified body was found on Mt. Pilchuck's hiking path. Who was later identified as Don M. Grant.
The man from Bellingham went hiking with friends suddenly separated from his group and went missing. It is assumed he went off to try out a shortcut in the hiking route. His friends waited at the trailhead for him and then later alerted the authorities.
Volunteers searched the hiking trails and finally located the body at the foot of Mt. Pilchuck quite a distance from where the group was hiking. His body will be airlifted and handed over to the medical examiner for further investigation to determine the cause of death.
