A family hiking trip takes a fatal turn, when their eight year old son fell into a twenty six feet deep canyon.
The family was hiking across a restricted area, when eight year old Cary fell into the Canyon and had a narrow escape. He was injured on his head and neck
This is the second accident in a week, at Starved Rock state park hiking trail. Previously a 26 year old man broke his neck, by falling down a 30 feet gorge while hiking. The park authorities have placed warning signs all over the hiking paths, and insist that people should observe the park rules and follow the signs for their own safety. There are marked trails specifically for people to follow.
